Education
YEDA opens doors to academic excellence and future careers through initiatives like Tech Days, tutoring, scholarship connections, college showcases, and financial literacy courses. By providing these opportunities, we empower youth to achieve their educational goals and prepare for successful futures.

Education Items
Bridging the Gap in Tech Access: Recognizing the underrepresentation of Black professionals in technology fields, YEDA is partnering with Mentoring Youth Through Technology (MYTT) to bring Technology Workshops to middle and high school students in Chicago’s Southland. With an expected attendance of 300 students (by end of 2025), these workshops introduce students to careers in STEM, fostering awareness and inspiring the next generation of tech talent.
Tutoring Services: Provided tutoring to students struggling in key academic subjects, helping them meet grade requirements and excel.
Scholarship Opportunities: In collaboration with Providence Catholic High School, YEDA secured scholarships for two youth participants, paving the way for a brighter academic future.
College Showcase Events: Brought college recruiters and YEDA students together, giving youth the chance to explore higher education options and network with representatives.
College Tours: Hosted trips to colleges, offering students the opportunity to envision themselves in higher education and learn about the application process
Financial Literacy Courses: Conducted courses to teach money management, budgeting, and financial planning, using computers purchased by YEDA for enrolled students.
School Supply Distribution: Distributed over 400 backpacks annually at the Back2School event, ensuring students are prepared for the academic year
